Livable City – sustainable urban development to Sweden

Sito and Voodoo Associates have been selected to come up with new urban development ideas for the regional centre of Nödinge in the municipality of Ale in Sweden.

Nödinge is located in the Gothenburg region, with the new train connection just 17 minutes away from the city. The area around the Nödinge railway station should be developed into a versatile small town centre. At the same time, Nödinge will be turned into the main service point and centre in the municipality.

Out of 30 applicants, four working groups were selected to draw up parallel plans for the development of Nödinge. A selection criterion for the working groups was solid experience from development projects of downtown areas. In its proposal, the working group headed by Sito naturally invested in cross-sectoral competences and unique urban design. All proposals made are displayed at the Nödinge library in spring 2017.
