Going to Norway

In line with its new strategy, Sito is aiming at the international market, primarily targeting Norway, Sweden and China. Sito has just signed a frame agreement with a Norwegian customer.

“We have signed an agreement with Vegvesen, Region Nord, i.e. the northern region of the Norwegian  Road Administration. The northern region encompasses three counties, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark,”  remarks Pirkka Hartikainen.

“This is a framework agreement for road and street design as well as for landscape architecture and environmental planning,” he continues.

The aim is international growth in line with Sito’s strategy. The framework agreement is a part of our expansion into Norway, initially focusing on our strongest areas, road design and landscape architecture.

“The Norwegian government has launched a major investment programme in infrastructure. We feel that there is a market for our expertise there. In addition, there is a shortage of skilled labour in Norway, especially in these sectors,” explains Hartikainen. “We are also actively entering the Central Norwegian market together with our Norwegian partner,” he adds.
