Fundatec to become part of Sito
Fundatec Oy is to be merged into Sito Oy. With this merger, Fundatec’s business operations will be transferred to Sito in their entirety. This corporate acquisition will significantly improve Sito’s project management and design expertise in rock engineering and demanding structural and geotechnical engineering.

International award for the Helsinki Capital Area Service Map
The Helsinki Capital Area Service Map has won the Open City series of the international WeGO Awards competition. The competition’s goal was to highlight services developed by cities and to improve residents’ opportunities to use public services.

Luminord 2012 lamp design competition won by Mikko Rikala of Sito
Two designers received the Luminord award this year. Designers Mikko Rikala, for his work “PL2§”, and Timo Niskanen for his work “Puhemies" received the award at the ValoLight event held in the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre on 12 September 2012.

Sito to develop impact assessment under the EU’s IMPERIA project
Sito is one of the consulting partners in the Life+ project directed by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). The project’s goal is to develop a multi-criteria decision analysis method for the assessment of the envi-ronmental effects of projects, plans and programmes.

The monitoring group of the City of Lappeenranta’s Architectural Pro-gramme awarded the title of Best Building 2011 to the residential-commercial building Wilhunkulma. In the opinion of the monitoring group, the building brings harmony to the cityscape and solidifies the city structure.

Street and rail planning based on data models in Vihti
Sito will draw up a street and rail plan for the organisation of roads and removal of level crossings in Nissola, Vihti. The work has been commis-sioned by the Finnish Transport Agency and the municipality of Vihti. The plan is presented to the public as an illustrative 3D web model, through which feedback can be given for individual sections of the plan.
