Katja Rasi enjoys working at Sito. Her work is challenging and related to her area of study. Katja works on a team of ten, where projects are allocated according to team members' competence areas and workload.
The water supply team is part of the municipal engineering department.
"A working water supply is one of the most remarkable cornerstones in any society. In Finland, high-quality drinking water is often taken for granted, but even the best systems can be vulnerable. A reliable water supply requires a lot of work. New problems have appeared as a result of climate change and extreme weather phenomena. Massive rainfall poses a new challenge to both existing sewer systems and water supply systems," Katja explains.
"Creating working and cost-effective small sewage treatment systems in locations with no municipal sewer systems will certainly keep us busy in the future," Katja points out.
Katja is married with two children: a 8-year-old daughter, Veera, and a 4-year-old son, Veikka.
