As the senior adviser of the road planning department, chairman of the board Hannu Hilli's everyday work involves municipal engineering and, specifically, road engineering. Graduated with a Master of Science in Engineering in Tampere in 1975, Hannu is one of the group of specialists who came to Sito 2006 through the merger of Sito and YS-konsultit Oy. As part of the merger, the partners of YS-konsultit Oy became partners of Sito Oy.

During my studies at the University of Technology, I had a summer job in the city of Rauma in municipal engineering, which gave me an early interest in this field.

Hannu is very familiar with the customers' point of view thanks to his work as an assistant city engineer from 1986-1990.
Over the years, Hannu has worked on several large road projects, such as Highway 2, Ring III and the Järvenpää-Lahti-Heinola motorway. Last year, Hannu was involved in the demanding Highway 6 project in Lappeenranta.
The road planning department employs twenty-one people.
Hannu is passionate about road planning and construction because it involves creating something solid and substantial which passes from one generation to the next.
It is not surprising, then, that Hannu also spends his leisure time on building something durable. "My wife and I bought a small old wooden schoolhouse, which we are slowly reforming," he says. The house is in Köyliö, which happens to offer excellent fishing. Hilli has two sons who are both students.
